My Sunday evenings are generally set aside for sitting on my arse and trawling the internet for new music, and then Monday evening is spent purchasing and listening to said new music. Here’s some of the choicest basssy cuts that I’ve dug up this week.
Mako is quickly cementing his reputation as a serious player on the Bass music circuit at the moment, and this preview from a tune off his upcoming EP shows exactly why. Tearing neuro-bass at it’s finest.
Koven has been busy already this year, with collaborations with Modestep, and remixes for Hadouken. Having the legendary DC Breaks give one of your tracks the Drum & Bass treatment is certainly not going to harm your reputation either. I’ll say one thing about this remix: TRIPLETS. Love a good triplet in a DnB tune.
Out 3rd March on Viper Records.
The duo formally known as Torqux and Twist have now re-branded as Torqux, and have returned with their first release under their new alias, on none other than Chase & Status’s label MTA. New name and fresh new styles, Torqux have dropped a three track EP of assorted basses on iTunes, and are hotly tipped as an act to watch for 2013!
Remix of the massive Teknian track, Behemoth, taken from the Sonic EP. I’m a huge fan of the original, and Dark Elixir has taken the tune up a notch, still keeping the dark and haunting atmosphere. No word of a release date yet, but there’s also a Kursa remix of this bomb floating around somewhere.
To balance out all this noisy and rowdy bass I’ve also come across a sweet little free download from Deekline & Ed Solo:
Bootleg garage remix of Disclosure’s massive hit ‘Latch’. Jumping on that garage bandwagon! And why the hell not indeed, when it sounds this good.
This free download serves as a bit of a promo for Deekline & Ed Solo’s new album, ‘Bounce N Shake’, a full 27 track LP spanning breaks, electro, dubstep and ambient vibes. This bumper album is available from Beatport for the measly sum of £8.61!!! Thats a little over 30 pence a track, which as I’m sure you will agree is a massive bargain.
